PHILADELPHIA -- The NCAA Division 3 title game promised a mountain of goals.
And that promise was delivered, as Tufts and RIT combined to score the most goals in the first quarter in the history of the Division 3 championship.
Manufacturing goals would not be a problem for either team throughout Sunday's contest, as it was less of a back-and-forth than a race to 20 goals.
But 20 goals wouldn't be necessary as Tufts got to 18 and held on to win their fourth national championship, 18-14 over RIT. It's the program's first national championship since 2015.
