In the fall of 2023, Paul Wable played attack for his club team, Express North.
Now, in the fall of 2024, he’s committed to the University of North Carolina as a short-stick defensive midfielder.
Wable is from Cheshire, Conn., and he was an offensive middie for two years at Cheshire High School, where he won a Class L state title before transferring to Choate Rosemary Hall last year and reclassifying as a 2026.
He began the shift to defense so he could find more playing time this past spring as a sophomore at Choate, but he was back to playing attack during his first showcase this summer.
