Bennett Matthews' outstanding junior season at Bedford (N.H.) High School earned him Division 1 Offensive Player of the Year honors in New Hampshire.
Winning that was a personal goal for the Duke commit. He put the work in during the offseason and not only had another strong year on the field, but also learned how to be a better leader.
The captain has won two NHIAA titles in football and is determined to help Bedford’s lacrosse team do the same. With 254 career points, he’s also four points away from setting the school’s all-time points record.
We caught up with him recently for a Q&A.
