While Vermont doesn’t announce a formal high school Player of the Year, South Burlington midfielder Will Goyette would have been a strong candidate.
He’s been a USA Lacrosse All-American the past two seasons and, as a senior, he broke the program’s scoring record, totaling 271 points on 168 goals and 103 assists.
South Burlington head coach Garnet Smith said Goyette was one of the best leaders he’s ever coached in his 20 years and that he is beloved by his teammates, coaches, teachers, officials and opponents. Goyette will play next season at Clarkson.
We caught up with him for a Q&A.
