Four hours into a cross-country plane trip last month, Lexi Davos (Norwell, Mass.) sent a text to her mother – and, by sending it, made lacrosse history, of sorts.
Jess Davos was sitting just a row behind her daughter on the plane, on the way back from a recruiting visit to Southern Cal, and read the short text with interest: “Mom, I want to go to Syracuse.”
For the Norwell High School and Mass Elite standout, the text didn’t just cement her future lacrosse and college plans.
It also meant that for the very first time, a successful Syracuse program would welcome a legacy.
