SMITHFIELD, R.I. — This past weekend, I returned to the campus of Bryant University for the final fall tournament of the season.
There were a number of local teams competing for the event’s ‘27 championship -- including a smattering of teams with '28 players making up the majority of their rosters.
Laxachusetts led the way with four teams in the group of 10, fielding two '28 squads and two '27 squads. Please keep that in mind if the number of Laxachusetts players seems excessive as our coverage continues this week. The remainder of the field was comprised of the Fighting Clams, Penguins, R.I. Bulldogs, Kings, 2 Way and Freight Train.
The number of clubs and the variety of players drew a large group of college coaches from all three divisions.
