The Governor’s Academy girls lacrosse team is coming off a strong 2025 season, finishing 14-3 and making an admirable run to the Independent School League championship game before falling to Noble and Greenough, 9-7.
The matchup was especially exciting; only weeks earlier, Govs had ended Nobles’ relentless winning streak with a 13-9 victory.
Despite the tight competition, Nobles pulled ahead by two goals before running the clock down, effectively clinching another ISL championship. But it was one it had to work for.
“It was a very, very close game,” said Govs coach Bert McLain, who praised Nobles' ability to recalibrate following its previous loss to Govs.
