After an 11-win season, one that ended with the team nationally-ranked for the first time, and included a trip to the Founders League championship game, coach Ethan McDonnell has high expectations for Choate heading into 2026.
Choate fought valiantly in a tightly-contested matchup against champion Loomis Chaffee but ultimately lost by a goal. It ended the season ranked No. 20 among high school teams by USA Lacrosse.
“Heading into our fifth season as a staff, we feel like we’ve established ourselves as league contenders – if not national contenders – so the expectations are certainly higher than they’ve been,” said McDonnell.
“What’s been clear this offseason is that the culture we have been building here over the last four years is in a great spot. We believe that success leaves clues, and our senior leadership group has been doing a great job in organizing, leading, and continuing the upward and onward trajectory of our culture.”
