Sept. 1 is the date circled on every top prospect's calendar, symbolizing the first day juniors in the class of 2028 can commit to Division 1 girls lacrosse programs.
New for this year, the boys first contact date was pushed back to Sept. 9, but the girls window remains the same. Starting on Tuesday, we'll see the region's best commit to Division 1 programs around the nation.
There will be a few prospects who may announce their decisions on Sept. 1, but we anticipate many of the area's most prized players will choose their schools throughout the next two weeks. The process is different for every recruit.
And just a reminder: the NCAA permits military academies to commit juniors earlier. The first '28 to land a Division 1 commitment from New England was Chloe Sherman (Darien, Conn.), who will play at Navy.
