HANOVER, N.H. — On Saturday, some of the most decorated and talented seniors in Vermont and New Hampshire took part in the 12th annual Twin State All-Star Game.
It was the 33rd overall contest between the two states, also known as the Byrne Cup. The game is held in memory of Vin Fucile, who organized and promoted the first Vermont/New Hampshire All-Star game in 1993.
It has been referred to as the Byrne Cup to honor Jack Byrne and his charity, the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation, which has helped to fund this event since Jack’s passing in 2013.
Last year, Vermont won, besting New Hampshire, 17-13, behind dogged midfield play and timely scoring. This year, things were quite different.
