The FCIAC gets a lot of the flowers, but make no mistake, you can just keep on heading north into the rest of the great state of Connecticut and still find top-tier lacrosse talents.
The nation’s No. 1 recruit just a year ago came from Cheshire High School, a public school outside of Fairfield County. Reigning Class LL champion Fairfield Prep is technically not an FCIAC school either, and it once again will threaten for a state crown.
In fact, all four Connecticut state champions a year ago (Fairfield Prep, Cheshire, Daniel Hand and New Fairfield) came from outside the FCIAC.
The reload begins for all four of those teams, as well as some of the runners-up who want their shot at the title.
