Each of the last three springs, the season has ended for the Sandwich (Mass.) High boys on the highest possible stage.
Reaching three straight MIAA Division 4 state championship games is no easy feat. The goal for this season: Reach it again. Then, win it.
In last June’s final, Sandwich lost a 7-6 heartbreaker to Nantucket. The year before saw an 8-4 loss to Cohasset, and Wahconah Regional denied the team in the 2022 final, 8-7.
According to coach Mike McNeill, continuity and culture are the driving forces behind the consistent success for a program started in 1993 by current JV coach Brent Pearsall.
