Reading Memorial (Mass.) coach Rob Parkin likes his defenders aggressive and proactive. He wants them setting a tone and forcing opponents out of their comfort zone.
And the coach has the perfect player to lead his belligerent defense – Ben Diemer, who was an All-American last year as a junior and will be playing at Division 1 Siena College next season.
“Ben is a ball of energy; he loves the game, he plays at a high intensity and he really brings the physicality,” Parkin said.
“At Reading, we really preach confrontational defenders who are out on gloves quickly, and can really extend out and put a lot of pressure on offenses, and that really matches his strengths as a defender.”
