Evan Anastas found out he'd been named the Varsity Maine Player of the Year when he was called and told at his job, only because organizers didn't have his phone number.
Anastas didn’t think he would hear the news in that manner, let alone at all, but he was proud of himself for the work he put in.
The senior midfielder for York scored 45 goals, tallied 30 assists, and was a big reason why the team went to its third consecutive Class B championship game, losing to Yarmouth in OT, 14-13.
Before beginning his freshman year at Bryant, Anastas shared what he's learned from the past four years at York.
