Fin Kilbourne (Duxbury, Mass.) remembers the first time he stepped onto the lacrosse field at Princeton University.
He was 6-years-old and he went with his mom, who'd played ice hockey at Princeton. She was attending a team reunion, and Kilbourne couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear.
“I was ecstatic,” he said. “It was a beautiful place. I was still new to lacrosse, and I just loved being there. It’s a memory I have that I haven’t forgotten yet. That just shows how beautiful the place is and the importance it holds in my heart.”
Though he routinely went to Princeton’s campus as a kid and wore Tigers gear, when it came time to choose where he wanted to play lacrosse in college, he tried to put that affinity to the side.
