For many young athletes growing up in Connecticut or western Mass., a trip to watch a sporting event at UConn is a rite of passage.
For many. Not for all.
“I had actually never been to UConn before I went on my visit there,” said Kerry Conway, who just completed her junior year at Longmeadow (Mass.) High School. “I never went to a UConn camp. I just went to a lot of showcases (their coaches) were at.”
Conway figures to see plenty of the school in the years ahead after making her commitment to play lacrosse for one of the top programs in the Northeast.
