First off, let’s not call these teams “sleepers.” That term carries a weird weight and connotation that is lost when applied in print.
I also don't think that many of these teams will fall under the surprise category, and success does not just materialize in the Division 3 landscape, even one so vast as what we enjoy in New England.
This is more of a watch list of teams that could make big inroads towards varying measures of achievement. For some, that will be to get over .500. For others, it will be an appearance in their conference tournaments, and for some, it will be a conference tournament win and an appearance in the NCAA championships.
All of those metrics are a long way off, but let’s try to break down which teams could be making big inroads in 2026.
