We've had some fun upsets in the Independent School League this past week. A big part of those results was the efforts of multiple senior midfielders for their teams.
Midfield is the position that drives lacrosse forward. Most players start out as middies because it's a position that rewards things like dedication, hustle and grit. Those who stay midfielders do so mostly out of their own choice or pure stubbornness.
If they're drawn to the defensive side of the ball, they become defenders. If their stick skills are so undeniable that they progress into playmakers, they become attackmen. Those who stay in the position because of the two-way nature of it are the true warriors.
So, in an effort to recognize that dedication, here are three senior midfielders who have risen to the top of the ISL and are making a direct impact on their respective teams' results this spring.
