LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – I am back from Lake Placid refreshed and exhausted at the same time from an exceptional experience coaching the 2027/'28 Sons Nation CroArt team.
For context, I was tasked with assuming head coaching duties one game into the tournament as the CroArt director -- Tyrone Croom -- had to tend to the numerous girls teams and parents at the same event. You can read more about our first day here.
The short of it is that we went into Day 2 a little low, so we had to find a way to get the team up. With three games left, things could have gotten very dark very quickly if we didn't make some changes.
Luckily, you learn a lot about your team in two games against very talented teams. We had an idea of who our top attackmen might be at first, but we were still experimenting with how the players would fit into which slots.
