La Salle Academy graduated a senior class of 14 players off last season's state championship team.
It wasn’t just a large class; it was also a talented class, with players going on to play at Division 1 programs Merrimack, Quinnipiac and Providence, among others.
Head coach Steve O’Donnell had a very simple message for the then-juniors who were stepping into those vacancies. “It’s your team now,” he told them. “You have to step into their role as a leader, not just as a player.”
The message was received well.
