The 2025 season was a tale of two halves for Middlesex. The Zebras started the year strong, winning their first five games – including two one-goal matches – and seven of their first eight games.
After the team’s 13-6 victory over St. Mark’s, however, the team lost three straight and five of its last seven to finish 10-6 overall, and dropped into the consolation bracket of the ISL tournament, where it lost in the semifinals to Roxbury Latin.
Despite the second-half setback, head coach Brian Powers said the program’s goal is to always be competing for an ISL championship. It was the runner-up to Belmont Hill in 2024.
“To get there, there are a bunch of steps along the way,” he said. “Working towards the same goal, on that front, is making sure everybody is practicing the same principles that guys are good teammates. That’s the biggest thing, making sure we have a group of guys that loves playing together.”
