Colin Whitmore (Hingham, Mass.) had made up his mind. Playing club lacrosse for Laxachusetts and high school lacrosse for coach Ben Rubeor at Thayer Academy, Whitmore was completely focused on playing lacrosse at the NCAA level.
He decided to play at Colorado College for head coach Sean Woods. The experience didn’t go as planned, however.
While he enjoyed his time at the school as a freshman, he didn’t love the academic schedule at Colorado College; instead of a typical semester, the school has eight blocks, each 3 1/2 weeks long, where students take one class at a time.
Whitmore didn’t play in the spring of his freshman year after he had surgery to repair his shoulder. Additionally, Woods left to become the head coach at Amherst College.
