Charlotte Wren’s lacrosse path seemed completely clear.
She began playing when she was in second grade, encouraged by her father, Jason, who’d played collegiately at Boston College when that was still a Division 1 program. She tried out for a Mass Elite team for the first time when she was in fifth grade and made it.
Last March, her recruiting path was taking shape, too. She was set to be a top player for Acton-Boxborough (Mass.) High School as a sophomore, and then showcase herself with Mass Elite during a critical recruiting summer.
On the third day of practice, that path encountered an obstacle. A big one.
