If Pingree coach Kevin Tersolo had one word to describe his team this season, it was resilient.
The Highlanders lost their first game of the season. They also endured a stretch from the end of April through mid-May when they lost three games in a row and four out of five, results that put them at 5-6 with four games remaining before the NESLL tournament.
“I’ve had teams in the past that have had significantly better records, teams that have gone 19-2, 22-0, won numerous (Eastern Independent League) championships, but this team was definitely the most resilient,” Tersolo said.
“They could have easily folded early on, but one thing that I really tried to preach this year was you need to be mentally strong and mentally disciplined, and I think that showed.”
