Twelve players from the region are part of the U.S. Women’s National Team that opens up play Thursday in the Pan-American Lacrosse Association Women’s Championship in Auburndale, Fla.
The eight-team championship also includes Argentina, Canada, Haudenosaunee, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru and Puerto Rico. The top four finishers will earn spots in the Division 1 bracket of the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Japan.
USA and Boston College coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein picked nine of her current and former BC players for the team, including senior goalie Shea Dolce (Darien, Conn.) and senior defender Shea Baker.
Defender Sam Forrest (Glastonbury, Conn.), who’s emerged as a star at North Carolina; 2025 Tewaaraton Award winner Chloe Humphrey (Darien, Conn.) of UNC; and former UNC goalie Caylee Waters (Darien, Conn.) are three other players from the region on the 22-player roster.
