SUDBURY, Mass. — This year’s New England Lacrosse Showcase again delivered on the promise of getting the earliest possible look at next year’s top squads in the MIAA — and beyond.
NELS is a chance for high school teams to unite after their seasons and compete without their graduated seniors. It’s a very unique event and atmosphere with the players being coached by college assistants, as they cannot compete with their coaches due to MIAA regulations; as a result, leaders emerge.
It’s a competitive atmosphere that tells us a lot about the teams and the players from the rising sophomore, junior and senior classes.
We took a closer look at some of the standouts for each of the seven New England-based squads that took part in this year’s competition. Up now: Connecticut's mighty blue wave -- Darien.
