With the spring lacrosse season finally over, attention to next year's campaigns has already begun. A big part of that is coach movement, which has been quite eventful already, even before the end of June.
So let's run through some of the more impactful openings, hires and departures from the last few weeks.
The move that kicked this all off was the abrupt departure of Virginia head coach Lars Tiffany from his position after the team failed to make it past Georgetown in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Assistant coach Kevin Cassese was elevated to head coach quite quickly after Tiffany's departure was announced.
This caused a large wave of criticism on how the Tiffany transition was handled by the Cavaliers' administration, and also had ripple effects on multiple job openings and movement all the way up to New England.
